With the announcement of two new flagship phones, consumers will now get the option to experience the Samsung Gear VR headset with the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.
Samsung, yesterday announced it was releasing a newer version of its Gear VR headset to its customers. The original model was only compatible with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, which limited those that could by the headset.
The new Samsung Gear VR will be 15 percent lighter than its predecessor, making it a much more comfortable fit for people use over extended period of time. The Gear VR for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge will have more comfortable straps and a mechanical ventilation technology for improved extended use which may appeal to those who are interested in the technology.
Users can charge their S6 simultaneously while inside the VR headset through a USB port which will allow for extended use. With the two versions of the latest Galaxy flagship smartphones announced to the world at Mobile World Congress, Samsung has now opened up the door for more consumers who want to buy its virtual reality headset.
Samsung’s Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are by far the prettiest smartphones the company has produced, featuring a stunning 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with an astounding 577 pixels per inch. And with 3GB of DDR4 RAM with the powerhouse Exynos 7420 processor, expect to pay a premium for the smartphones and the virtual reality headset. There hasn’t been a confirmation on exact pricing for the VR Headset.
