Meet Cricket Storytime a LIVE, interactive online service for children ages 2-5 years old presented by Many libraries host a weekly in person children’s storytime. There are also video recordings of popular children’s books that can be found online as well, but none of them are offering a live online story reading.
Cricket Storytime was created to fill this need, bringing versatility to traditional children’s online book readings.
Travelling parents, special needs children and childcare providers who would otherwise not be able to enjoy a library story event, can now do so from the comfort of their home from anywhere and on any device as long as they have an internet connection.
Cricket Storytime uses Electa live’s virtual classroom technology to deliver the online read a-louds. The classroom is equipped with audio, video, chat and other child-friendly tools that children can use to interact with the story and the teacher. Unlike a library’s book reading which is a one-time only read, each Cricket Storytime is recorded and can be replayed as many times as the child wants.
online book readings
The online read a-louds are hosted by a certified and experienced early childhood teacher who knows and understands what is required of children for kindergarten success. Each book reading is carefully designed and filled with pre-reading and social skills that each child needs to have to be successful in school.
Unique books will be read that can be customized for each child. Imagine your child seeing his picture in the story and hearing his name read in the story! That will certainly give your child a real boost to their self-esteem. In addition, your child will gain interest and confidence in books and reading.
